Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth & Real Estate Members To Play Dead

Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker will bring his band The Freaks to Chicago on July 3 for a performance at City Winery during Fare Thee Well -Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead at Soldier Field. Alex Bleeker & The Freaks will be joined by a number of indie rockers as special guests for their Grateful Dead tribute dubbed “Alex Bleeker & The Freaks Play Dead.”

Bleeker’s guests include Ira Kaplan and James McNew of Yo La Tengo, Dave Harrington of Darkside, Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, singer Ryley Walker, Real Estate’s Matt Kallman, M. Geddes Gengras, Kyle Field and Lee Baggett.

Tickets are on sale now for the show which has a midnight start time allowing those heading to Soldier Field to attend. Alex Bleeker & The Freaks Play Dead is part of City Winery’s Weir World series.
