Wynonna shared a cover of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.” The track will land on the legendary country star’s upcoming covers EP, Recollections, due out on October 30 via ANTI- Records.

Recollections — a project Wynonna recorded during quarantine on her farm in Tennessee with her husband, multi-instrumentalist and producer Cactus Moser — will also include a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Ramble On Rose” as well as a cover of the Slim Harpo blues classic “King Bee” (also covered by GD), which the singer shared ahead of the Prine classic.

Wynonna spoke about her take on “Angel From Montgomery” in a statement. Read it below:

I was sitting in the kitchen when I got the news that John had flown. I told Cactus I needed to sing “Angel From Montgomery” that night because I needed to honor how much John had meant to me. I learned that song when I was a teenager, and now, forty years later, I’m still singing it, and hopefully passing it on to the next generation who will keep on singing it, too.
