The ever-prolific Willie Nelson announced he will release Dream Catcher, his 79th solo studio album and 156th album overall, on May 29 via Legacy Recordings. Nelson also unveiled “Dream Chaser,” the project’s title track and opening song.
Dream Chaser finds the outlaw country legend continuing his fruitful partnership with producer and co-writer Buddy Cannon. The pair co-wrote six of the LP’s 10 tracks together, including one (“I Can’t Read Your Mind”) with Willie’s Outlaw Festival tourmate Bob Dylan. Willie and Bob previously wrote “Heartland” together for Nelson’s 1993 album, Across The Borderline.
Also of note, longtime Willie Nelson Family Band harmonica player Mickey Raphael penned “Long Overdue” for the album with Donald W. Poythress & Anna Lisa Graham. Raphael is among the musical contributors to Dream Chaser.
Willie Nelson wrote “Dream Chaser” with Buddy Cannon and Nasville songwriter Bobby Tomberlin. Stream the reflective track below:
