Wilco concluded their 2019 Winterlude residency in their hometown of Chicago with the fourth and final show of the run held Thursday at The Chicago Theatre. Opener Sharon Van Etten once again joined the headliners during the encore on a cover of John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over),” while also accompanied by members of Sylvan Esso, Ohmme, Spencer Tweedy and others.

Thursday’s notable setlist alterations included just the second performance of “Monday” of 2019 during the main set, and the first “Spiders (Kidsmoke)” of the year during the encore. Prior to “Spiders,” Wilco began the encore with guitarist James Elkington sitting-in on “California Stars.”

Van Etten, Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, Ohmme’s Macie Stewart and Sima Cunningham, as well as Spencer Tweedy, Liam Kazar and Casey Gomez Walker, came onstage to add vocals and percussion to Wilco’s final performance of the decade, closing the show with “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” Watch audience-shot video footage of Wilco’s Winterlude finale below:
