BTS, Shakira and Madonna will perform at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show. The event is set to take place at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey on July 19.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will curate the performance, which supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, “an initiative aiming to raise USD 100 million to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide,” as per a press release.

Shakira, who is a FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund Board member, wrote a special song for the performance.

“I’ve spent my life doing two things — making songs and building schools,” Shakira stated. “At the FIFA World Cup, those two paths come together. Standing alongside Madonna and BTS, I’ll be performing ‘Dai Dai’, the song I created for this World Cup and for the kids around the world we will reach with the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. My hope is that on the world’s biggest stage, the importance of investing in children’s education steals the show!”

The 2026 World Cup will take place in cities throughout United States, Canada and Mexico. The 48-team tournament runs from June 11 to July 19. Check out an announcment video for the World Cup halftime show below:
