Widespread Panic will broadcast their June 30, 2002 concert at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado as this weekend’s installment of the Never Miss A Sunday Show video series powered by nugs.net. The full show premieres on Sunday, August 9 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT via nugs.tv.
Each Never Miss A Sunday Show in August will feature concerts from the “old school” years of 1994 – 2002 to honor the legacy of founding lead guitarist Michael Houser. Widespread Panic’s June 30, 2002 show was the final performance of a three-night stand at Red Rocks. The concert was Houser’s last at the iconic venue and he would only play one more show before leaving tour to focus on his health. Sadly, Mikey passed away due to cancer on August 10, 2002.

Panic’s 2002 Red Rocks run finale was a guest-filled affair that featured plenty of classics from the band’s repertoire. Jerry Joseph sat-in with WSP for a series of songs in the second set and the encore saw the sextet joined by guitarist George McConnell and saxophonist Randall Bramblett.
Video of the show will be added to nugs.net’s ever-growing collection of on-demand Widespread Panic videos for app users, which includes each of the August Never Miss A Sunday Show broadcasts, shortly after the premiere. nugs.net subscribers can also stream hundreds of the band’s live audio recordings.
