Watch Widespread Panic Cover The Black Keys’ ‘Strange Times’ In 2011

Jam titans Widespread Panic released pro-shot video featuring their cover of The Black Keys’ “Strange Times.” The second of WSP’s four “Strange Times” covers was filmed at The BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama on April 15, 2011.

“Strange Times” was originally released by The Black Keys on the duo’s 2008 studio album, Attack & Release. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney co-wrote “Strange Times.”

Widespread Panic unveiled their rendition On Halloween 2010 in New Orleans. The version shared by the sextet as their latest YouTube video was Panic’s second “Strange Times” cover. Two additional plays followed on July 8, 2011 and October 15, 2011.

Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in nearby Pelham was initially scheduled to host Widespread Panic on April 15, 2011. The concert was moved indoors “due to inclement weather” as per Everyday Companion. The weather cleared enough to allow Panic to play Oak Mountain the next night.
