We are completely blown away by the enthusiasm and excitement that our reunion shows have received so far. Dean and Papa Gene Ween would like to thank each and everyone of you. See you in Colorado!

Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman and Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo formed Ween in their hometown of New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1984. At first, the duo performed backed by tracks played on a tape recorder but later enlisted what turned into their longtime backing band of bassist Dave Dreiwitz, keyboardist Glenn McClelland and drummer Claude Coleman, Jr. Dave, Glenn and Claude are all aboard for the reunion shows.

After Gener issued the statement breaking up the band, he went on to issue his first solo album, Marvelous Clouds, a tribute to singer/poet Rod McKuen. In 2014 he formed a band called Freeman and issued an LP under the moniker. Earlier this year he started using the Gene Ween name once again for a series of “Gene Ween Does Billy Joel” performances, solo band shows and an appearance with Umphrey’s McGee at the Summer Camp Music Festival. Melchiondo formed The Dean Ween Group shortly after the breakup and for a while was backed by Dreiwitz, McClelland and Coleman as well as guitarist Scott Rednor. More recently McClelland departed the group and was replaced by Harry Waters.
