Relix reports that Fishman discussed the status of the new Phish album during one of his appearances in Philadelphia. According to the report, the drummer said the band is done recording the album – which was produced by Bob Ezrin – and that the LP will mostly be comprised of songs fans haven’t heard yet.

Phish drummer Jon Fishman concluded a busy two days in Philadelphia stumping for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders with a performance at North Bowl Lounge & Lanes. Fish performed with a band featuring Eli Winderman of Dopapod, Clay Parnell of Particle, Ian McGuire of CIA, Muscle Tough’s Joe Baldacci, Jon Coleman and Ross Bellenoit as well as Risky Disko.

Fish’s time on stage included a cover of the fitting Talking Heads hit “Burning Down The House.” Watch footage of the cover captured by 215music:

Earlier in the day, Fishman registered and met with voters at different locations across Philadelphia. Recently, Fish spoke at a rally for Sanders and the drummer has performed a number of times with a variety of acts in support of the candidate. Fish also appeared in a brief video for the Sanders campaign explaining his reason for backing the senator from Vermont, which you can see below:

Jon returns to the road with Phish starting June 22 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
