Jon Fishman Helps Kick Off Bernie Sanders Rally In Portland

This afternoon, Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders is holding “A Future To Believe In” rally at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. Phish drummer Jon Fishman was among the musicians who performed for the crowd ahead of Bernie’s appearance.
Fishman played with local favorites the Kenya Hall Band at the rally which comes one day after “Super Tuesday” and was free to the general public. The drummer’s appearance followed a after a similar appearance at a Sanders event in New Hampshire last month. Fish explained his reasoning for supporting Bernie in a video posted by the campaign. Here’s a few social media posts from the State Theatre rally which also saw Fishman speak before Sanders came on stage and Bernie call Phish “one of the great bands in this country”:

Fishman has a long history of supporting Bernie’s political endeavors including performing at a 2006 Honky Tonk The Vote concert for Sanders’ Senatorial campaign.
