Warren Haynes Pays Tribute To Brian Farmer In Tennessee
Last night Warren Haynes brought his tour in support of Ashes & Dust to the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tennessee; where he paid tribute to an old friend who passed away in 2014.
Brian Farmer was a ubiquitous presence at any Warren Haynes concert as the guitarist’s tech and right hand man. Farmer died on August 24, 2014 at his home near Nashville and last night Haynes honored his close friend in Tennessee. For Friday’s encore, Warren and the Ashes & Dust Band – which features drummer Jeff Sipe and ChessBoxer – were joined by singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle and Calexico’s pedal steel master Paul Niehaus on “My Old Friend The Blues.” Townes Earle’s father, Steve Earle, wrote “My Old Friend The Blues,” which Warren dedicated to Brian Farmer.
