A special performance from The War and Treaty was featured on Monday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Tanya and Michael Trotter led an expanded lineup of their project through a memorable cover of Elton John’s 1993 hit, “I’m Still Standing,” at the Ed Sullivan Theater.

The War And Treaty kept it all in the family by inviting Tanya’s brother, gospel singer Willie Blount, who shared lead vocal duties with the married couple. A full seven-piece band backed Michael, Tanya and Willie on their first-ever cover of a song about resiliency.

Elton John wrote “I’m Still Standing” with lyricist Bernie Taupin for inclusion on his 1983 studio album, Too Low For Zero. The song peaked at No. 4 in the UK and No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S.
