Videos & Full Show Audio: Tedeschi Trucks Band Welcomes Jorma Kaukonen In Washington DC
By Andy Kahn Feb 27, 2016 • 8:42 am PST

On Thursday Tedeschi Trucks Band kicked off another three-night stand, this time performing at the Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. The opening night of the run featured a guest sit-in from opener Jorma Kaukonen.
The Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna guitarist emerged toward the second-half of the TTB’s main set. Kaukonen contributed to a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and a take on “I Pity The Fool” by Bobby “Blue” Bland. Other highlights of the night included the “Don’t Know What It Means” > “Keep On Growing” > “Let Me Get By” sequence that came after “The Letter” opener, a fiery “I Want More” after the sit-in and Susan Tedeschi leading the band through the Ron Davies-penned David Bowie hit “It Ain’t Easy” to begin the encore.
An audience recording of Thursday’s TTB show has been shared by opsopcopolis and can be streamed below:
