Umphrey’s McGee helped open this year’s Suwannee Hulaween music festival with a two-hour set on Thursday night. The sextet busted out a cover of Toto’s “Africa” for the first time in 17 months as part of their The Patch stage performance.

Guitarist Jake Cinninger led the group through “40’s Theme” to get their set underway. Next came “Half Delayed” off 2018’s it’s not us before the band worked “Day Nurse” into “Maybe Someday.” Classics “Slacker,” “Prowler” and “Wife Soup” followed ahead of “It Doesn’t Matter.”

Umphrey’s continued their set with its lone cover, as they performed “Africa” by Toto for the first time since the 2018 Summer Camp Music Festival. Last night’s “Africa” was just UM’s third since 2015. The band then dug in on “The Triple Wide” which gave way to “JaJunk.” The well-jammed “JaJunk” featured “Ringo” within.
