Umphrey’s McGee shared pro-shot video footage of their hour-long performance of “Ringo” at their December 30 show at The Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. The band’s “longest performance of a song ever played” live featured guest appearances by The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth and Dave Matthews Band’s Jeff Coffin.

UM hinted at a “full set of improv” before the start of their New Year’s Run. They utilized guitarist Jake Cinninger’s “Ringo” for the improvisation saturated set. Early in the jam, guitarist Brendan Bayliss improvised vocals, which was followed by Hollingsworth – whose solo band played an opening set – accompanying Joel Cummins on keyboards.

Kyle jammed with UM for over 10 minutes, leaving the stage ahead of a transition back to “Ringo.” Umphrey’s continued to improvise for several more minutes, with Bayliss adding more impromptu vocals before Coffin came out to supply saxophone for the last 10+ minutes of the song and set.
