Umphrey’s McGee guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger held their 20th annual Holiday Show last Saturday at Park West in Chicago. The festive setlist featured a cover of Julian Lennon’s “Too Late For Goodbyes.”
“This next song, I’ve wanted to play for 20 years,” Bayliss said before the start of “Too Late For Goodbyes.” Bayliss sang lead and played mandolin on the song that Julian Lennon recorded for his 1984 album, Valotte. Cinninger played electric bass, with UM percussionist Andy Farag on drums and frequent collaborator Mike Racky on pedal steel guitar.
Saturday’s Holiday Show at Park West was a benefit for the Peoples Music School and raised over $35K in support of children’s music education.
