Twiddle To Take Indefinite Hiatus After 2023

“This isn’t the end, it’s just goodbye for now.”

Twiddle will take a break for “the foreseeable future” at the end of 2023 following 18 years of touring. The quartet rolled out over 20 2023 shows today as part of the band’s farewell (for now) before the indefinite hiatus starts in 2024.

Frontman Mihali wrote a letter to fans detailing Twiddle’s decision:

“I come to you all with a heavy heart today to share a tough but important announcement. With the support of my bandmates, we are making the difficult decision to take an indefinite hiatus as a band starting in 2024 after 18 years of being on the road.

In times like these, I believe that change is necessary for creative growth and proper reflection.

Music has engulfed my life ever since I was 14 years old, and since then I’ve devoted every part of myself to it. Twiddle in particular has been my life’s focus since college, and the band & crew members have been like brothers to me.

I’ve now come to a crossroads in life where I feel I’m being pulled in many different directions. I need to make the right choice for me and for my family. I feel that now is the time to make a much needed change to gain a different perspective on life and focus my creative energy elsewhere.

We are so blessed to have been able to live out our dreams because of you and your support. Without all of you, none of this would have been possible. I wouldn’t trade a second of this experience for anything. So from the bottom of my heart and with all my love, thank you so much for everything. The Twiddle community really feels like a big family and the amount of kindness and love that you have shown us and each other over the years has been nothing but inspiring. I am so proud to have been a part of it.

With that being said, 2023 will be the band’s last year of touring for the foreseeable future. Please come celebrate the incredible community we have all built together during this next year and we hope to see all of you at least one more time. More shows for 2023 will be announced in the coming months, and we can’t wait to celebrate each and every night throughout this tour with you.

This isn’t the end, it’s just goodbye for now.

All our love and gratitude” – Mihali

Twiddle released an excellent studio album, Every Last Leaf, back in August. The band’s first LP in five years features the track “Distance Makes The Heart,” which shares its name with Twiddle’s 2023 tour. Mihali, bassist Zdenek Gubb and keyboardist Ryan Dempsey will be joined by drummer Adrian Tramontano throughout 2023. Tramontano has been filling in for Brook Jordan.

The “Distance Makes The Heart” tour starts on January 19, 2023 at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club. It’s then off to Huntington, New York (January 20); Asbury Park, New Jersey (January 21); Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (January 22); Ithaca, New York (January 27) and Providence, Rhode Island (January 28).

After a few weeks off, Twiddle launches the second leg of the run in Arizona with shows in Tempe on February 18 and Tucson on Febuary 19. The four-piece then hits California for concerts in San Luis Obispo (February 22), San Diego (February 23), Los Angeles (February 24) and San Francisco (January 25) before a stop in Crystal Bay, Nevada on February 26.

March begins for Twiddle at Portland, Oregon’s Star Theater on the 1st. Additional March dates follow in Seattle, Bend (Oregon), Boise (Idaho), Bozeman (Montana), Jackson Hole (Wyoming), Salt Lake City, Aspen (Colorado), Denver and Frisco (Colorado).

Eggy will open select dates. General on-sales begin this Friday, December 2 at 10 a.m. local time.
