Trey Anastasio Shares Ghosts Of The Forest Clip ‘Get In’
By Scott Bernstein Mar 30, 2019 • 2:57 pm PDT

Trey Anastasio posted a clip with the caption “Get In” that likely comes from his Ghosts Of The Forest album. Anastasio shared nothing besides those words in introducing a 30-second excerpt that features psychedelic imagery and audio. The Phish frontman sings “Get in, get out” towards the end of the intriguing clip.
If the audio is indeed from Ghosts Of The Forest, it’s just third piece of music from the mysterious project he’s shared. Listen to “Get In” below:

Ghosts Of The Forest makes their debut on Thursday at The State Theatre in Portland, Maine as part of a nine-date tour. Anastasio will be joined on the road by Phish drummer Jon Fishman, Broadway star Celisse and longtime Trey Anastasio Band members Jennifer Hartswick, Tony Markellis and Ray Paczkowski. While little is known about what to expect, a Rolling Stone article was briefly posted to Apple News on Tuesday that included a bit of context. In it, Anastasio revealed he wrote and recorded an album shortly after the death of his childhood friend Chris “CCott” Cottrell that will serve as source material for the tour. Trey sat at CCott’s side in his final days of battling cancer and created the Ghosts Of The Forest songs in tribute to his friend of 40 years.
The aim was to create material he felt his friend would enjoy. Rolling Stone’s Patrick Doyle described the songs on the album, which is due on April 12, as featuring “psychedelic guitar liftoffs, ambitious arrangements and extremely personal lyrics.” Anastasio revealed to Doyle that he decided against putting it out immediately after going “through a period of deep self-doubt after recording it.” The guitarist enlisted famed production designer Abigail Holmes (Talking Heads, Shakira, Roger Waters, Cher, The Cure) to work on the staging of the tour. While the first seven shows are sold out, tickets for the L.A. show on April 19 are on sale now via Ticketmaster as are tickets for Berkeley on April 20.
