Supergroup The Word brought their most extensive tour since 2002 to a close at Paradise Rock Club in Boston on Saturday night. The band, which features keyboardist John Medeski, sacred steel specialist Robert Randolph and The North Mississippi Allstars, mixed material from their two studio album with a handful of covers including a tour-closing rendition The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” There are no future The Word shows currently scheduled. Check out Andrew Bruss’s photos from the show as well as video of openers Amy Helm and the Handsome Strangers welcoming members of The Word for a rendition of “Atlantic City” and audio of the tour-closing Stones cover.
