The Royal Mail Announces Set Of Pink Floyd Stamps

Famed British rock band Pink Floyd is the subject of a new set of stamps to be issued by U.K.’s Royal Mail service. Ten stamps feature images of iconic album covers and live performances in celebration of Pink Floyd’s 50th anniversary. The stamps are available for pre-order online now ahead of their release on July 7 at which point they can also be purchased at 8,000 U.K. post offices.
Most of the stamps feature recreations of album covers: The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Atom Heart Mother, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Endless River. The other four stamps focus on the band’s live appearances, from UFO in 1966, through to 1994’s The Division Bell tour.
“Few bands in the history of rock have managed to carve out a career as rich and expansive as that of Pink Floyd,” said Royal Mail. The Royal Mail had previously issued stamps featuring the Beatles in 2007 and a set of stamps recreating album covers in 2010. Here’s a look at the 10 Pink Floyd stamps:
