The Revivalists were joined by special guest Brandon “Taz” Niederauer for a song at The Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Saturday night. Taz sat-in with the New Orleans-based rock band on “Wish I Knew You” towards the end of their set at Montage Mountain.
Niederauer made the rounds at the four-day festival for appearances that included sets with his The Allman Brothers Band tribute act Trouble No More and a special Brandon “Taz” Niederauer & Friends performance. The guitarist first teamed up with The Revivalists way back in 2013, when he joined the group for “Whipping Post” at Brooklyn Bowl. Taz sat-in with the group a number of times since, including on “Forgot About Dre” at Brooklyn Bowl in 2016.
The Revivalists brought out Taz late in their 90-minute set on July 2. Niederauer added to breakout single “Wish I Knew You” from The Revivalists’ 2016 LP, Men Amongst Mountains. Taz took a ferocious solo in the middle of the song and focused on rhythmic work otherwise. “Wish I Knew You” came as part of a 12-song performance that included four cuts from 2018’s Take Good Care among a series of career-spanning originals and a show-closing take on The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.”
