The National Performs ‘Rylan’ For SiriusXM

In May, The National released their newest album, I Am Easy To Find. Earlier in the week, the group stopped by SiriusXM’s studios for an appearance on SiriusXMU Sessions to speak with Jenny Eliscu about their recent collection. During the show, the band also performed a gorgeous take on “Rylan,” one of the singles from the LP.
In contrast to their past performances of “Rylan,” like their massive take during The Late Show With Stephen Colbert at the end of May, The National’s performance earlier in the week was relatively minimalist. Though the collective — with its string section, two backing vocalists and full band — still filled up the relatively small studio, the live take offered a softer, more mournful rendition, highlighting the depth of emotion within the number.
