The National announced the 2020 outing of their hometown music festival, Homecoming, in conjunction with the festival’s sister event MusicNOW founded by The National’s Bryce Dessner. The happenings will run concurrently throughout Cincinnati May 8 and 9 with MusicNOW spilling into a third day May 10.
Homecoming, taking place at the Cincinnati waterfront’s Smale Park, will feature two headlining concerts from The National including a live presentation of the band’s 2010 album High Violet. Homecoming will also see performances from Patti Smith and Her Band, Sylvan Esso, Of Monsters and Men, Local Natives, Japanese Breakfast, Phosphorescent, Hamilton Leithauser, Jay Som, Sudan Archives, Velvet Negroni and Wussy & Triiibe.
“It’s great to invite our friends and fans to our hometown – the place where we all began our lives as listeners and musicians,” The National’s Bryan Devendorf said in a statement. “Putting on this intimate event on the banks of the Ohio River is meaningful to us and our families. We are so very grateful.”
MusicNOW will feature special late night events taking place in Cincinnati clubs and ticketed separately from Homecoming. The lineup, talks and special exhibitions will be announced soon along with ticketing information.
Tickets for Homecoming go on sale Friday, November 22 at 10 a.m. ET. Head to purchase.
