We can always count on The Motet to come up with interesting themes for their Halloween runs and this year will be no exception. The Colorado progressive funk collective will present shows with the theme of Mixtape 1975 in their home state this fall featuring songs from that illustrious year in music history.

The Motet’s Mixtape 1975 Halloween run will make stops at Vilar PAC in Beaver Creek (October 28), the Boulder Theater (October 30 & 31) and Denver’s Ogden Theatre (November 1), with an additional Colorado show to be announced soon. Tickets for the Halloween run go on sale this Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. MT via the band’s website.

We received our first taste of Mixtape 1975 during The Motet’s support set for Umphrey’s at Red Rocks on Saturday, where the group covered the 1975 funk hit “Cut the Cake” by Average White Band.
