Audley Freed, Jen Gunderman & Fred Eltringham Jam With Tedeschi Trucks Band In Bridgeport

Tedeschi Trucks Band opened a two-night stand at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Friday with support from Sheryl Crow. Guitarist Audley Freed, keyboardist Jen Gunderman and drummer Fred Eltringham, who are members of Crow’s band, joined TTB during the encore.

The encore opened with a cover of Mike Reid’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” before the guest sit-in began. The additional musicians were then brought out for The Rolling Stones’ “Loving Cup,” Sleepy John Estes’ “Leaving Trunk” and Rahsaan Roland Kirk’s “Volunteered Slavery.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band drummer Isaac Eady stepped away from his kit for “Loving Cup” and “Leaving Trunk,” returning to play cowbell on “Volunteered Slavery.”

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks welcomed bassist James Genus during their encore on Saturday at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater. The Saturday Night Live band member sat in on “Space Captain.”

TTB then closed out the summer leg of their Future Soul Tour on Sunday at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire. The tour’s frequent guest Lukas Nelson, and members of his band, once again shared the stage with Tedeschi Trucks Band at various points of the tour finale.
