The Lil Smokies Close Out 3-Night Run In Denver

Montana’s The Lil Smokies concluded a three-night run at Denver’s The Bluebird Theater on Saturday night. The jamgrass act treated a capacity crowd to a career-spanning mix of originals and choice covers. Saturday’s show began with “Winded” and featured such other beloved fan-favorites as “California,” “True Blues,” “Feathers” and “The City.” The set also contained a new song entitled “Wheels On Water” and saw the group fit a portion of ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” into “The Toothfairy.”

After closing out the set with a take on Sturgill Simpson’s “Call To Arms,” dobroist Andy Dunnigan and guitarist Matthew “The Reverend” Rieger opened the encore with a cover of “These Days” by Jackson Browne. The rest of the band then returned for “Mending The Fence.” Photographer Jeremy Williams was on hand in Denver to capture the action. Check out a gallery of his work:
