The Heavy Heavy Previews Debut Album ‘One Of A Kind’ With Introspective ‘Happiness’ Single

British rockers The Heavy Heavy confirmed their debut full-length album, One of a Kind, arriving September 6 through ATO Records. The band led by Georgie Fuller and William Turner shared the lead single, “Happiness,” along with a music video.

Written entirely by Turner and Fuller and cut largely at the latter’s studio in Brighton, One of a Kind follows the duo’s acclaimed 2022 debut EP, Life and Life Only.

“But in a departure from the EP, One of a Kind leans away from Laurel Canyon-esque folk-rock and fully embraces [The Heavy Heavy’s] British roots, finding a particularly crucial inspiration in the gritty and groove-heavy hedonism of The Rolling Stones’ Goats Head Soup,” as per press materials for the LP.

The Heavy Heavy previewed One of a Kind with “Happiness,” described as “a sun-drenched, sing-along-ready number that serves as an auspicious bridge to the band’s new era. The summery track channels a bold determination to break free from loneliness and stagnation, ultimately providing an automatic mood lift thanks to The Heavy Heavy’s resplendent melodies and signature multi-part harmonies.”
