The Disco Biscuits wrapped up their Ardmore Music Hall livestream run on Saturday. The jamtronica pioneers busted out “The Bridge” for the Ardmore finale.
The Disco Biscuits got the first set underway with “The Overture,” which as the title suggests is the opening salvo on guitarist Jon Gutwillig’s 1998 rock opera, Hot Air Baloon. Next, bassist Marc Brownstein led the band through “The Bridge” for the first time since December 2018. The performance also marked just the 12th time the band has played the song since its debut in 2010 — with nearly half of those performances coming that same year — during the band’s Bisco Inferno run in Colorado, as per Phantasy Tour. The Biscuits then got into a shimmering jam that built to a crescendo with drummer Allen Aucoin revving things up with a driving beat before dropping into the classic “I-Man” from their 1998 album, “Uncivilized Area.” The band then headed into “Cyclone,” a song that originated in the tDB side project JM2 which featured Brownstein, Gutwillig, Lotus drummer Mike Greenfield and the New Deal’s Jamie Shields. Bisco then delivered the middle section of “Digital Buddha” before returning to “I-Man” to close out the first frame.

The Biscuits kicked off the second set with the bouncy “Story Of The World” with keyboardist Aron Magner adding some flute-like synth accents. “SOTW” then led into the driving “Tricycle,” a song the band debuted in 2000 ahead of an eight year absence until its return in 2008. It has remained a steady staple since. The Biscuits then layered upon a darker, four on the floor jam prefacing “The Great Abyss” which in turn led into the relatively new song, “Anthem,” a song the band unveiled during their November 14, 2019 concert in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Bisco then headed into another middle section, this time of “Crickets,” which also contained an “Anthem” tease before bookending the set with “Story Of The World” and bringing the evening and run to a close.
