Former TTB bassist Tim Lefebvre confirmed the clip is indeed from the band’s new album.
Earlier today, the Tedeschi Trucks Band shared an audio clip on the band’s social feeds with no context. With the group’s new studio album due early this year, it’s possible the snippet could be fans’ first taste of the follow-up to 2016’s Let Me Get By.
The forthcoming album will be the band’s fourth studio effort. Frontwoman Susan Tedeschi chatted with JamBase contributor Chad Berndtson during the recording process for the new LP. She mentioned the group would be joined by strings from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra on some of the tracks. Tedeschi also revealed the TTB were aiming to “save songs” that made the album and not perform them live until the record comes out. Here’s the clip shared by the group:
The Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to the stage on January 17 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bassist Tim Lefebvre parted ways with the group. Brandon Boone will join the TTB for their January and February shows. Additionally, keyboardist Gabe Dixon will fill in for Kofi Burbridge while the multi-instrumentalist recovers from a health-related issue.
