Most of the members of the Tedeschi Trucks Band appeared in Episode 4 of the ongoing “Fireside Sessions” livestream series. Last evening’s performance featured guitarists Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi joined by five additional members of TTB for a set that included a new original song.

Tedeschi and Trucks were supported by keyboardist Gabe Dixon, bassist Brandon Boone, drummer Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell, vocalist/guitarist Mike Mattison and making his first “Fireside Sessions” appearance, vocalist Mark Rivers. The set began with the TTB originals “Anyhow” and “When Will Begin.” Covers of Allen Toussaint’s “Get Out of My Life, Woman” and the blues standard “Key To The Highway” followed.

Trucks (playing his 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop guitar), Dixon, Boone and Greenwell then played an unidentified instrumental. The rest of the participants returned for the debut of a new song written by Mattison titled “At The Heart Of The Matter.” The rest of the session was filled out with covers of Derek & The Dominos’ “Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?,” Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and Billy Taylor’s “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free.”

“Fireside Sessions” air each Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT via nugs.tv. Two episodes remain in the series. Proceeds help support the band and its crew. Donations can be made directly here.
