Tedeschi Trucks Band Debuts Allman Brothers Band Classic In Bangor

Last night, the Wheels Of Soul Tour featuring the Tedeschi Trucks Band, North Mississippi Allstars and Los Lobos came to Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine. Once again, there were plenty of collaborations with the highlight coming during the TTB’s set when a member of Los Lobos led the group of their first-ever rendition of an Allman Brothers Band gem.

Those hoping the TTB would start adding Allmans songs to their repertoire after the band broke up in 2014 have been disappointed. While the group will play an ABB tune from time to time, they are focusing on their own material and cover repertoire for the most part. With that in mind, we suspect fans in Bangor must’ve been shocked when the Tedeschi Trucks Band unveiled a cover of the Idlewild South classic “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’.” Los Lobos guitarist/vocalist David Hidalgo fronted the TTB on the cover. Hidalgo had previously teamed with the TTB pre-cursor The Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band way back in 2010 at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Music Festival in Chicago for a romp through “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’.”

Here’s the first clip of the TTB’s “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin'” to surface:
