Tedeschi Trucks Band & Co. Bring ‘Wheels Of Soul Tour’ To Saratoga Springs

By Scott Bernstein Jul 4, 2017 10:41 am PDT

The Wheels Of Soul Tour continued on Monday night at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, New York. Monday’s show culminated with a set from the Tedeschi Trucks Band following performances from Hot Tuna and The Wood Brothers.

The TTB are currently touring with keyboardist Carey Frank, as Kofi Burbridge continues his recovery from major heart surgery. Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi led the 12-piece through “Anyday” by Derek & The Dominos to start their 12-song main set. A string of beloved originals – “The Storm,” “Anyhow” and “Ball & Chain” – came next. From there, the TTB covered “I Pity The Fool” and then treated fans to “Let Me Get By” and “I Want More.”

A cover of “Leaving Trunk” with “Volunteer Slavery” set the pace for the TTB’s own “Don’t Know What It Means,” “Laugh About It” and “It’s So Heavy.” The Tedeschi Trucks Band brought the set to a close with “Get What You Deserve.” Susan, Derek and the gang weren’t done yet as they dropped a phenomenal encore of “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More,” “Will The Circle Be Unbroken?” and “Made Up Mind.”
