Sunday Cinema | Pro-Shot Gov’t Mule And Guests At Vibes

Mule made the most of their Gathering Of The Vibes set this past July by mixing classics with new material off Shout! and a heaping helping of covers. There’s also plenty of guest spots as bassist George Porter Jr. lends a hand on a cover of The Band’s “The Shape I’m In,” saxophonist Bill Evans rocks out on “Devil Likes It Slow” and Evans, GPJ and guitarist John Scofield join Mule for a J.J. Cale tribute in the encore slot of “After Midnight.” For all the covers and guest spots our favorite moment was the “Thorazine Shuffle” > “Funny Little Tragedy” > “Thorazine Shuffle” that brought the main set to a close.
