We thought we had seen it all when it comes to broadcast-quality Little Feat footage from the band’s ’70s heyday to make the rounds, until we came upon this gem of a set we’re showcasing for today’s Sunday Cinema selection. We’ve seen bits of Little Feat’s mesmerizing set from London’s Rainbow Theatre in 1977 here and there, but not the 75 minutes worth that’s featured below.

Little Feat’s visit to London for four shows between August 1 -4, 1977 are among the seven performances from that year featured on one of the greatest live albums of all-time –Waiting For Columbus. The show on the third, which we believe is when the video below was filmed, was most notable for surprise guest Mick Taylor. Mick had left The Rolling Stones a few years prior and engages in a guitar duel for the ages with Lowell George on “Apolitical Blues.” There’s also the addition of the Tower Of Power horns, who add powerful blasts to songs like “Skin It Back,” “Old Folks Boogie” and the righteous “Spanish Moon” closer. Enough with the small talk, feast your eyes and ears on Little Feat at the peak of their powers:
