STS9 Talks Improvisation & Gear With Reverb Soundcheck

Livetronica act STS9 is the focus in the latest installment of the Reverb Soundcheck video series. The segment features three members of the band discussing their gear and how they stay in sync during live improvisation sequences.

Keyboardist David Phipps covers his Korg SV-1 stage piano and his arsenal of synths, while Alana Rocklin details her custom Lakland 55-94 bass modified with MIDI triggers in the frets and Zach Velmer explains his mix of electronic and analog elements making up his drum kit. The band members also talk about preparing setlists for shows, blending composed sections of songs with jamming and other aspects of their on stage communication.
