Stevie Wonder Announces ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ 50th Anniversary Tour

Stevie Wonder will perform his 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life in its entirety during an 18-show tour of Europe and the U.S. this fall. The Songs In The Key Of Life Performances 50th Anniversary Tour begins October 13 in Birmingham, England and concludes December 19 in the Los Angeles area.

Originally issued as a double LP with a four-song bonus EP, Songs In The Key Of Life includes “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” “Isn’t She Lovely,” “As” and “Love’s In Need Of Love Today.” The album earned Wonder his third Album Of The Year Grammy in 1977 and was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry in 2005.

Wonder first performed the album in full at his House Full Of Toys benefit in Los Angeles in 2013. He brought the production to the road in 2014 and continued the tour in 2015. As with the 2014 trek, the upcoming U.S. leg will open at Madison Square Garden.

The tour kicks off at Utilita Arena Birmingham before heading to continental Europe for dates including Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Amsterdam. A November 1 stop in Dublin precedes a return to the United Kingdom for concerts at London’s The O2, Manchester’s Co-op Live and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

Wonder launches the six-show U.S. leg at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 19. Concerts at Chicago’s United Center on November 21 and Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on November 23 follow. The run resumes with two nights at Detroit’s Fox Theatre on December 8 and 9 before wrapping at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California on December 19.

Tickets for the U.S. shows outside Detroit go on sale Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for both Fox Theatre performances go on sale Tuesday, September 15 at 10 a.m. ET.

Presales for the European and U.K. dates begin Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. local time, with general on-sales following Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m. local time. Additional presales vary by market.
