Stevie Nicks Cancels 2021 Festival Appearances Over COVID Concerns
Replacements have been named for each of the festivals Nicks was supposed to play over the next two months.
“These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us,” Nicks wrote. “While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021.
“Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer,” added the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer. “I’m devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”
Stevie was previously set to appear at Jazz Aspen Snowmass and BottleRock Napa Valley over Labor Day Weekend as well as at Shaky Knees and both weekends of the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October. Nicks was also part of the lineup for the recently canceled New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band will replace Nicks in Aspen with Chris Stapleton taking her place on the BottleRock lineup. Foo Fighters have been added to Shaky Knees’ lineup, while Duran Duran are aboard for Stevie’s slots at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
