Steve Vai Announces The Big Mama-Jama Jamathon Event & Initial Lineup

Guitarist Steve Vai announced The Big Mama-Jama Jamathon Event will be held on September 28 – 30 at Musicians Institute’s LiveHouse in Los Angeles. The “improvisational music/art event” will benefit Extraordinary Families and feature 52 consecutive hours of music.

Vai will serve as musical director alongside fellow performers Dweezil Zappa, Al Di Meola, Dave Navarro, Moby, Steve Morse, Lee Ritenour, Andy Vargas, Souleros and others. The event starts at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, September 28 and continues non-stop until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 30. A livestream will be provided by a number of outlets.
