Today, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks issued new music for the first time since 2014. “Middle America” is the name of the new single and its release is accompanied by the announcement of a 2018 North American Tour.

The former Pavement frontman and his band put out “Middle America” on a variety of digital services. “Middle America” features, “Malkmus’s wry wordplay and sunny twang create an ode to underdogs everywhere, with bittersweet words of encouragement for the ramshackle character on their receiving end” as per a statement announcing the new single. The press release also mentions “fans can likely expect a further taste of new music.”
