Spotify Sessions Volume 2 Playlist

Early last year, Saturday Stream presented a Spotify Playlist collecting songs from a variety of performances held around the world as part of the streaming platform’s Spotify Sessions live recordings series. Since then, several additional live sets have been shared, and along with some previously not featured performances, they make up the second volume of the live playlist featured this week.

Once again, the 20 tracks in the collection were primarily recorded at Spotify facilities in New York City, London, Stockholm, Los Angeles and elsewhere such as at music festivals like SXSW. Spoon drummer and acclaimed studio engineer Jim Eno was involved in producing several of the sessions. The second volume includes a pair of returning artists from the first round, with new performances held by Courtney Barnett and Michael Kiwanuka. The other 18 tracks feature musicians not heard on the first volume.

The second volume showcases live recordings by well-established artists such as Jackson Browne, Weezer, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and Slash, as well as newer-to-the-scene acts like Leon Bridges, Anderson .Paak and Rayland Baxter. The playlist also showcases a wide range of performers such as Jason Isbell, Charles Bradley, Matisyahu, Sharon Van Etten, Dawes, Lucius, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix and a few others.
