Jim James :: 11.21.16 :: Terminal 5 :: New York City, NY

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James brought his current solo tour to New York City for a concert at Terminal 5 on Sunday night. The guitarist is touring in support of his just released solo album Eternally Even and played each of the record’s nine tracks during the course of last evening’s show. As he’s been throughout the tour, James was backed by a band featuring a trio of fellow Louisville-natives, Twin Limb, who also performed an opening set. The headlining performance also saw James tap several selections from his solo LP Regions Of Light And Sound And God such as “A New Life” and “State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.).” James also worked up a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “I’m Set Free” and offered takes on side-project cuts “Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.)” by Monsters Of Folk and “Down On The Bottom” by The New Basement Tapes. Photographer Andrew Blackstein was at Sunday’s show, view his images below.
