Spafford closed out a two-night run at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on Saturday with a show featuring a bust out and a pair of cover debuts. The quartet dusted off a The Who cover and unveiled their takes on songs by the Bloodhound Gang and Neil Young.
The Arizona-based band opened Saturday’s concert with a 31-minute version of “Eminence Front” by The Who. Spafford hadn’t performed the song since January 27, 2018 after debuting the cover on December 31, 2015. A 55-minute, two-song start to the set continued with an expansive “Leave The Light On.” Spafford then followed “Electric Taco Stand” with their first ever rendition of “Fire Water Burn” by The Bloodhound Gang. “Fire Water Burn” appears on the Bloodhound Gang’s 1996 album, One Fierce Beer Coaster.

Spafford got the second set underway with a well-jammed “All In” that hit the 20-minute mark. “Seven” came next before the four-piece offered up versions of recently debuted originals “Doghouse” and “Part II.” The band then premiered a cover of Neil Young’s “War On Man.” Young released the original on his 1992 studio album, Harvest Moon. Spafford closed out the set with “Weasel” and paired “All My Friends” and “Fünkenseven” as the evening’s encore.
