Brooklyn Bowl :: New York, NY

The third show of Soulive‘s Bowlive VII run at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City took place this past Friday night. Guitarist Eric Krasno, keyboardist Neal Evans and drummer Alan Evans were joined by a handful of guests including vocalist Antwaun Stanley, the members of opening act Lawrence and the Snarky Puppy Horns for a show that was heavy on covers. The core trio began the first set before welcoming the horns for “Hat Trick” and “Cannonball” to bring the opening frame to its conclusion.

Soulive loaded the stage with Stanley, the horns and the members of Lawrence for the second set. First up was Stevie Wonder’s “Signed Sealed Delivered” followed by a take on Steely Dan’s “Peg” and Vulfpeck originals “Funky Duck” and “Waiting For The Moment.” Antwaun then led the ensemble on The Doobie Brothers’ “Takin’ It To The Streets,” “Love & Happiness” by Al Green and Earth Wind & Fire’s “Shining Star.” Check out photos of the evening thanks to Adam McCullough:
