Soulive Announces Guests For Bowlive V Run

Soulive will return to NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl this March for the fifth annual installment of their Bowlive residency. Bowlive V takes place March 13 -15 and 18 -22. Today, a number of special guests and opening acts for the run have been revealed as well as the news that The Shady Horns will guest at each show.

For the March 13 Bowlive V opener, Soulive will be joined by special guest Nigel Hall. Meters bassist George Porter Jr. will be among Soulive’s guests on the 14th, a show that will feature an opening set from Leroy Justice. GPJ returns as special guest on March 15, with The London Souls not only set to open that night but the trio will partake in a special “London Soulive” joint set. Guitarist John Scofield is aboard as Soulive’s special guest on the 18th with Jon Cleary set to open (and guest) that night and the next. Drummer Joe Russo and saxophonist Bill Evans will guest with Soulive on the 19th. Rap legend DMC of Run D.M.C. will make his Bowlive debut on the 20th with the Alan Evans Trio set to open. Keyboardist Marco Benevento will guest on the 21st with Sonya Kitchell aboard as opener. For the finale on March 22, Wolf! featuring Scott Metzger will open.

Eight-night passes and individual tickets are on sale now. More special guests for the run will be announced soon.
