As we reported yesterday, Mule has been performing their early studio albums from front-to-back as part of their Island Exodus sets. We were hoping the band would continue the trend on Friday by tackling 2000’s Life Before Insanity and that’s exactly what happened. Once again guest Bill Evans helped out on a few tracks, this time around it was on “The Other Jam” that developed out of “Fallen Down” and on “Tastes Like Wine.” Evans returned for the “If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day” encore.
Haynes’s solo set contained a mix of originals and covers. Both Evans and Mule multi-instrumentalist Danny Louis guested on “Into The Mystic,” “Endless Parade” and “Soulshine.” The Warren solo performance also included covers of George Harrison’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” and “Wasted Time” by The Eagles.
