Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds Film ‘Tiny Desk Concert’

Brooklyn soul-rockers recently visited NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C. to contribute the Tiny Desk Concert video series. Today, NPR Music has premiered the seven-piece band’s Tiny Desk Concert performance.
Frontwoman Arleigh Kincheloe led the Dirty Birds through a spirited three-song set. The group opens with the extremely catchy “Sugar” and also performed “Catch Me If You Can” and “Mama Knows” while gathered around host Bob Boilen’s desk. Arleigh noted the band wrote “Mama Knows” in honor of her mother who was celebrating a birthday on the day Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds filmed their session. Watch how it went down:
