Sigur Rós Announces North American Spring Tour 2017

By Scott Bernstein Dec 12, 2016 10:00 am PST

This spring, Icelandic trio Sigur Rós will head out on a just-confirmed tour of North America. The band will be on the road between April and June with dates scheduled for both coasts and many cities in between.

Jón Þór “Jonsi” Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason will continue a trend started in 2016 of performing without any accompaniment, foregoing the string and brass sections augmenting past concerts. Sigur Rós will tour without a support act, as they will play two career spanning sets at each show. Once again the intimate performances will be pairing with live visuals designed by the same team behind their previous Knights Of Illumination award-winning tour.

In April the band will perform in the California cities of Santa Barbara, Berkeley and Irvine ahead of three special shows in Los Angeles. A May appearance at the Hangout Festival will be followed by shows in New Orleans, Atlanta, Columbia, Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, St. Louis, Dallas, Austin, Nashville, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City.

Fan pre-sales will be begin at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, December 13 for most shows. Head here for more information.
