Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sheryl Crow headlined Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre last night with a concert opened by Larkin Poe. Crow brought out Larkin Poe’s Rebecca and Megan Lovell for two songs in the middle of her set and welcomed the sisters back to sit in on a geographically-appropriate Joe Walsh cover to start the encore.

Larkin Poe are currently touring in support of their fantastic 2025 album, Bloom. The sister act fronted by guitarist Rebecca Lovell and steel guitarist Megan Lovell fit five songs from the LP into their set. The band also looked to their Grammy-winning 2022 album, Blood Harmony, for “Bad Spell” and “Bolt Cutters & The Family Name” and performed “Blue Ridge Mountains” off 2018’s Venom & Faith.

Sheryl Crow and her talented backing band threw down a career-spanning 21-song performance to end the night. Crow launched her set with “A Change Would Do You Good” and played such classics as “Can’t Cry Anymore,” “My Favorite Mistake” and “Leaving Las Vegas” before stepping to the mic to introduce the Lovell sisters:

“There’s so many young artists. So many talented, amazing songwriters and players that are blowing my mind — that make me want to keep going. One of those artists, or those bands, is Larkin Poe. So, I could not have them come out play at Red Rocks with us without having them come out and play with us.”

Rebecca and Megan contributed to a beautiful version of Crow’s 1994 single, “Strong Enough.” Sheryl sang the first few verses and then Megan belted out a verse. Both Lovell sisters also contributed backing vocals. A visibly pregnant Rebecca played mandolin on the Tuesday Night Music Club track.

“We’re gonna keep them out for another song,” Crow said. Larkin Poe then added to a rollicking rendition of “Out Of Our Heads,” a song from Sheryl’s 2008 LP, Detours.

“Larkin Poe, you guys. Keep an eye on them,” Crow exclaimed as the Lovell sisters left the stage.

Sheryl Crow loaded the rest of her set with more favorites, including “Steve McQueen,” “All I Wanna Do,” “Soak Up The Sun” and “Everyday Is A Winding Road.” The Lovell sisters returned to join Crow on her recently debuted take on Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way.”

Megan Lovell tore it up on steel guitar, as Sheryl Crow fronted the ensemble and Rebecca Lovell played mandolin on the cover. Crow’s guitarists Audley Freed and Peter Stroud teamed with Megan for fiery licks galore towards the middle of the song. Crow then said goodbye to Red Rocks with the poignant “I Shall Believe” sans guests.
