Sharon Jones Documentary Film To Debut At TIFF

A new feature length documentary film about the life of soul singer Sharon Jones will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. Directed by two-time Academy Award winning director Barbara Kopple, Miss Sharon Jones! will make its world premiere at TIFF next month. Produced by Cabin Creek Films, the documentary chronicles Jones’ recent battle with cancer as well as her career as the frontwoman of The Dap-Kings. Jones posted a message regarding the film on her Facebook page, stating:
“I am very excited that my film is going to premiere at the TIFF, one of the biggest film festivals in the world! I am so grateful to Cabin Creek Films and Academy Award winning director Barbara Kopple for capturing my life and can’t wait to share the love that went into making the film with my fans.”
