Shakira Sets Return To Egypt’s Great Pyramids Of Giza For November

Shakira announced she’s heading back to the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on November 28. The concert comes nearly two decades after the Colombian singer-songwriter and dancer first performed at the sole surviving structure from the original seven wonders of the ancient world in 2007.

The global icon’s return to the Great Pyramids of Giza was originally scheduled for April, but was postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Shakira hasn’t performed in Egypt since the 2007 show at the Pyramids.

“I’m very happy to be performing in Egypt, at the Pyramids of Giza. I love you all,” Shakira said in a statement.

The concert, presented by Venture Lifestyle, is part of Shakira's Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Shakira is nearing the end of the North American leg of the excursion, with dates in Boston, Newark, Brooklyn, Elmont (New York) and Atlantic City scheduled through July 25. A residency in Madrid at a venue built specifically for Shakira follows this fall. She’ll also perform at the final halftime show of the Fifa World Cup on July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
